Hotel Akaal Residency

We’ve been running Hotel Akaal Residency out of the Sethi Building for quite some time now. If you know Chowk Baba Sahib, you know how busy it gets around here. Our spot is right in the thick of it. Most days start pretty early with the sounds of the street waking up. It’s not a fancy glass building or anything like that, just a solid place where we do our work. Some of us have been coming here for years, and we’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit. The building itself has its own character, maybe a bit old-fashioned, but it works for us. We spend most of our time at the desk or checking on things around the halls. It’s a lot of walking up and down. We don’t really do much big advertising because people usually find us just by being in the area. It’s a practical setup. The walls have some marks and the floors show the wear of people coming through, but that’s just how it is when a place is actually used. We keep things simple and try to stay organized, even when the chowk outside is chaotic with traffic and people. It feels like home to us now, even with the noise and the constant movement. We just focus on keeping the doors open and taking care of the daily tasks that keep the residency going.
