Our yard and office are located at 252-A, TTK Road in Alwarpet. Being in a place like Alwarpet means we have to be a bit careful with how we move the heavy stuff, as the traffic on TTK Road can be a real nightmare during peak hours. D. R. Granite (Nellore) Pvt. Ltd. deals with exactly what the name says—large, heavy slabs of stone. Because of that, the place is often a bit dusty and there is usually the sound of a crane or a cutter working somewhere in the back. It’s not a sterile environment. You’ll see bits of stone and sand on the ground, and the staff usually has some dust on their clothes by noon. We have people coming in to look at different granite types, and we just walk them around the slabs so they can see the natural patterns for themselves. We don’t use any fancy lighting to make the stones look better than they are; you see them in the plain daylight just like they’ll look in a house. The office is a small part of the 252-A address, mostly used for writing out invoices and taking orders. It’s practical work. Moving granite isn't easy, and it takes a lot of physical effort to get everything loaded onto the trucks correctly. We’ve been at this for a bit, just a local team in Alwarpet handling stones from Nellore and beyond.
