Our shop is number 1453 in the Main Bazaar at Cheel Mandi. If you know the bazaar, you know it is always loud and full of people. Amanpreet Singh And Sons has been a part of this noise for a long time. My sons and I are here from early morning until the sun goes down. The bazaar has a smell of spices and old wood that you never really get out of your clothes. It is a narrow space, so we have to stack things high up to the ceiling. Sometimes it is a bit of a struggle to find what we need right away, but we always find it eventually. The neighbors at the other shops are like family to us. We watch each other's stalls when someone needs to grab a quick bite. There is a lot of history in these walls. The floor is worn down from years of people walking in and out. We don't have air conditioning, just a couple of old fans that make a clicking sound. It gets hot in the summer, but we keep the water cold. People come in to chat as much as they do to buy things. That is just how life is in Cheel Mandi. We don't see any reason to change how we do things. It worked for my father and it works for us. It is honest work in a busy place.
