You can find us over at the Dairy Complex on Mehta Road. We are right in the Bhalla Mandi area, not too far from the Gurdwara Bhala Sahib. It is a noisy place with trucks coming in and out all day long because of the mandi. We deal with trading various goods, mostly things that come in bulk. The office is small, just a couple of desks and a lot of paperwork piled up. Sometimes the dust from the road gets inside, so we are always wiping down the furniture. I’ve been running things here for a few years. It’s hard work, especially when the weather gets really hot or when it rains and the road gets muddy. We know most of the drivers who bring the loads. They stop by for a chat or to use the phone. We don't have a big sign or anything, just the address on the wall and people usually find us by asking around. The Gurdwara is a good landmark for people who haven't been here before. My brother takes care of the inventory while I handle the people coming in. We try to get things moved out quickly so the space doesn't get too cramped. It’s a bit of a scramble during the peak hours in the morning. By evening, things quiet down a little and we can finally sit for a bit before closing up. It’s a decent living, even with the long hours.
