Being part of the Vallabhipur Farmer Producer Company Limited means we are closely tied to the land here. The oil mill is a central part of our daily life. It is where a lot of the crops end up being processed. The building is old and has that smell of pressed seeds and machinery. It isn't a modern office building with air conditioning. We have our meetings among the bags of produce and the sound of the machines running in the background. Juna Rampar is a small place, so news travels fast and everyone knows everyone. We started this company to give the local farmers a better way to manage their business. It is hard work, especially when the harvest is coming in and everyone is busy at once. We don't have a marketing team or a website that we update all the time. We just talk to the farmers directly. Sometimes we sit outside the mill when the weather is nice to discuss the prices and the plans for the next month. It is a very hands-on way of doing business.
