Dhatarvadi Farmer Agro Producer Company

Our office is right in Rajula, just a short walk from the Mandi Market. Being so close to the market means we are always right in the thick of things. Dhatarvadi Farmer Agro Producer Company was started because a bunch of us locals wanted a place where farmers could actually get things done. In the mornings, you can hear the auctioneers shouting and the trucks rumbling by. It’s a dusty, busy part of the Amreli district, and we wouldn’t have it any other way. We spend most of our time sitting on plastic chairs, talking to the guys who bring their produce in. There’s always a pot of tea going and someone complaining about the price of diesel or the lack of rain. We don't have a fancy website or a marketing department. We’re just a group of people from the village who know how hard it is to make a living off the land. Sometimes the paperwork gets backed up because we’d rather be out talking to the members than sitting at a computer. The office is usually cluttered with sample bags of seeds and old ledgers. It’s a bit messy, but it’s a working office. We’re here to help each other out and make sure the local farms stay running. It’s a community thing more than a business thing, really.
