In the area of Baghaulasuchi, Salon, there is a small group of us working as Maabargadi Navkrishak Farmers Producer Company Limited. We use Abhishek Pal’s place as our main point of contact. Salon is a place where you can't really escape the farming life even if you wanted to. We are just local folks who grew up in these fields and decided to put our resources together. It makes things a little bit easier when you need to rent a tractor or find someone to help with the harvest. We don't have any polished speeches about what we do. We just wake up, check the fields, and see what needs to be done. Sometimes we spend the whole day just moving dirt or fixing a fence that fell down. Abhishek is usually there to help coordinate things so we aren't all doing the same job at once. It’s a very basic setup, just how we like it. The air in Baghaulasuchi is usually dusty, and the work is always heavy, but it’s what we know. We don't use any marketing tricks to tell people we are great. We just let the quality of the produce speak for itself at the market. It is a simple existence, focused on the soil and the seasons, and that is enough for us. We just keep working together because it is the only way that makes sense in a place like this.
