Subrankishan Producer Company Limited

You can find us over at Ashok Kumar’s place on Sammanpur Road in Alapur. It’s a plain building at 62/B, and that’s where we run Subrankishan Producer Company. Ambedkar Nagar is home to a lot of hardworking people, and we’re just a small part of that. We aren't a big firm with people in suits. We’re usually wearing our work clothes because there’s always something that needs doing on the farm. We got this company going because we felt like we were getting a bit lost when we tried to do things individually. Now, we pool our resources and try to get better deals on things like fertilizer and tools. It’s a lot of talking and a lot of planning, mostly around a wooden table with some tea. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to finish our work by candlelight, but we don't mind much. We’ve all lived around here long enough to be used to it. The main thing is just keeping the farms running and making sure everyone has what they need for the next harvest. We don't use any fancy talk or try to sound more important than we are. We're just neighbors helping neighbors, trying to keep our way of life going in a world that’s changing pretty fast. It’s just us, doing our best with what we have.
