Jankendra Farmers Producer Companylimited is on the first floor of a building in Ghatkana. Specifically, it is number 2738 in the Rampur Saka area of Akbarpur. Ambedkar Nagar is where we all call home. It is a bit different having an office on the first floor compared to just meeting out in a field, but it helps keep the papers dry when it rains. We are a collective of farmers from all around Akbarpur. We decided to get organized so we could handle the selling and buying a bit better. The area around here is mostly agricultural, so there are always people talking about the harvest. Our office is not very large, and it can get a bit cramped when more than five of us show up at once for a meeting. We do not have fancy air conditioning or anything like that, just a couple of old fans. Most of our work is done out in the sun anyway. We deal with the administrative side of farming, which is something we are all still learning as we go. There are mistakes sometimes, but we fix them and move on. It is part of the process. We know the land here very well and we know what grows best in this specific soil. Life in Ambedkar Nagar has its ups and downs, but being part of this company gives us a bit more stability.
