Nakoda Metching Centre

We are located on Beawer Road, specifically inside the Khajanchi Market. If you know the area, it's one of those places that stays crowded from morning until late at night. Nakoda Metching Centre has been here for a good bit of time. The market itself has a lot of history, and we’re just one small part of it. Every morning we sweep out the front and get ready for whoever walks in. It’s a lot of matching colors and looking at different materials. The lighting in the market isn't always the best, so sometimes we have to take things out to the doorway to see the real shade of a fabric. We have shelves stacked high, and sometimes it feels like we’re running out of room, but we always find a spot for new stock. It’s a lot of standing on your feet and talking to customers who are looking for very specific things. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just know where Beawer Road is and they find Khajanchi Market easily enough. It’s a bit dusty because of the road work that always seems to be happening nearby, but we manage. My family helps out when it gets really busy during the wedding seasons. It’s a lot of work, but it’s what we do. We just try to get the matching right so people can go on with their day and finish their outfits.
