Jain Iron Company

You can find us over in Dhakarkhedi, right on the main road in Kishangarh. We are situated very close to the main bus stand, so there is always a lot of noise and people moving about. Our place, Jain Iron Company, is exactly what the name says. We have piles of iron rods, angle irons, and steel sheets sitting around. It’s a heavy, dusty business. We spend most of our time measuring lengths of metal and cutting them down for people who are building houses or fixing up shops nearby. We don't have a big corporate structure or anything like that. It’s just a few of us here. We keep a ledger for the regular customers who come in every week. Sometimes the trucks dropping off the raw iron block the road for a bit, and we have to help guide the traffic. It’s a bit of a rough-and-ready setup, but it works for us. We’ve been at this spot for years and have seen the bus stand area get busier and busier. We don't do any fancy advertising. Most of our customers just stop by because they saw the sign or heard about us from a neighbor. The floor is always covered in metal shavings, and the sound of the saw is pretty constant during the day. We just keep our heads down and do the work. It’s just iron and hard work at the end of the day.
