About Lawrence And Mayo Public School – Education in Ajmer
Our spot is on Makarwali Road in Ajmer. It’s a busy area and there is always something going on right outside the walls. When you walk into the school, you leave the noise of the street behind, but you can still hear the occasional horn from the main road. The building is older in some parts and newer in others, which gives it a bit of a mismatched look if you really pay attention. We spend a lot of time keeping the classrooms tidy, though with so many kids coming through, it is a constant job. The hallways at Lawrence And Mayo Public School have a lot of posters that the kids made, some of them a bit crooked. In the staff room, there’s always a pile of notebooks waiting to be checked and someone usually has a tiffin box open. We don't have fancy decorations everywhere; it’s mostly just functional spaces where teaching happens. The stairs are a bit narrow, so everyone has to be careful when the classes change. Outside, the playground is where most of the energy is. It’s a dusty patch of land, but it serves its purpose. Makarwali is a good neighborhood to be in, even if the traffic gets stuck sometimes in the afternoons. We just focus on the daily stuff, like making sure the chalk is stocked and the water coolers are full for everyone. It’s just a normal school day.
