Down here in Vil. Sikrai, things move at a steady pace. Bawanpara Farmer Producer Company Limited is based right where Ramdhan Gurjar and his family have stayed for a long time. Dausa is a place where everybody knows who is growing what. We aren't trying to be some big corporate entity; we’re just a bunch of neighbors in Th.Sikandra who decided to join up. It started with a few conversations about how expensive things were getting and how hard it was to sell our crops at a fair price. We’ve got some small offices now, but mostly we are out in the dirt. It’s dusty work and some days the sun is really something else, but we’ve got to get the job done. We don't use a lot of fancy words or have a polished presentation. Some of our notes are probably scribbled on the back of old receipts, but the heart of it is there. We take care of our own and try to make sure everyone in the group has what they need for the sowing season. Rajasthan is tough land sometimes, but it’s our home. Being in Sikrai means we are close to the fields and close to each other. We’re just local people trying to keep our farms running without too much outside interference. It’s honest work, and that’s plenty for us. There isn't much more to it than that.
