Our group, Yashwant Agro Farmer Producer Companylimited, operates out of Shahapur Avhanekhurd. We are located at the place of Aher Ajay Suresh. This is in the Shevgaon Taluka, over in the Ahmadnagar district. It’s a rural spot where the rhythms of the day are set by the sun and the chores. We don't have a fancy office building. It’s more of a home-based setup where we can sit down and talk about the crops. Being in Shevgaon means we are right in the middle of the farming community. We spend our time looking at the local produce and trying to get things organized for the members. Ajay’s place is easy enough to find if you are from around here. We aren't trying to be a big city corporation. We just want to make sure the business side of our farming lives is handled properly. There’s a lot of talk about the weather and the prices at the market. Sometimes we have tea and just look over the ledgers for hours. It’s not exciting work, but it’s necessary for us. We don’t use big words or have long meetings with presentations. We just decide what needs to be done for the next week and do it. It’s a practical way to run things, and it works for us in Avhanekhurd.
