Shahikrushi Producer Company Limited

Shahikrushi is basically a bunch of us neighbors from Talegaon Male. We operate out of House Number 361. Kopargaon is our home here in the Ahmednagar district. Everyone around this village knows each other by name. We are just a group of farmers trying to do things a bit smarter than before. Being a producer company means we can finally buy our seeds and fertilizer in big loads. It is a lot better than everyone driving off on their own to find a deal. The roads here get very muddy when the monsoon hits, so we stay close. We talk about our crops all the time over tea. It is mostly onions or maybe some sugarcane depending on what the year looks like. We have one small room where we keep all our folders and records. It really isn’t much to look at if you were expecting an office. We spend nearly all our days out in the hot sun. That is just how it has always been for us. My father did this work, and his father before him too. We just want to get a fair price for the stuff we grow with our hands. Working together just feels like the right thing to do now. Sometimes the market prices drop and we all feel the pinch. Having this company helps us stay a bit more steady. It isn’t about being a big business. We just work the land.
