Fresh Origin Farmer Producer Company Limited has its office on the first floor, right above Kps Milk Prakriya in Kanhurpathar. Being in the Parner region, we are surrounded by dairy farms and green fields. We set this up as a way for us farmers to have more control over where our produce goes. Since we are in the same building as the milk processing unit, there’s always someone around to talk to. It’s a very practical setup for us. We don't have fancy furniture or air conditioning, just a place to keep our records and meet with the local growers. Parner can be quite dry, so we spend a lot of time discussing irrigation and water management. We are not corporate types; we are people who know how to handle cattle and crops. Our company is a way to bridge the gap between our farms and the bigger markets. It’s a lot of manual work and sometimes the days are very long. We handle everything from grains to whatever else is in season. We’re just trying to make sure that the people in Kanhurpathar get a fair deal for their hard work. There’s no big secret to what we do. We just work together, share our tools, and try to keep our farms running. It is a local effort and we take pride in being from this part of the country. We keep it simple and focus on the land we know.
