Shrishobha Krishi Producer Company Limited

Our operation is located at Mr. Rameshchandr’s place in Tal-Pohari. He’s the son of Sobharambachora, and he lets us use the space for Shrishobha Krishi Producer Company Limited. It’s a local effort, through and through. We are all from around Pohari and we’ve been farming these lands for as long as we can remember. Getting a company started seemed like a big step, but we wanted to have more control over how we sell what we grow. It’s mostly just us sitting around and deciding what to plant and when to sell. We don't always agree on everything, and there’s plenty of arguing when we meet, but that’s just how it goes with people who care about their work. The office isn't much to look at, just some chairs and a desk where we keep the books. We spend most of our time out in the fields anyway. The dirt here is good if you treat it right, but it takes a lot of effort. We share the work and the tools when we can. Sometimes we have to wait on the rain, and those are the slowest days. We aren't looking to be some huge corporation. We just want to keep things going for the families here in Pohari. It’s honest work and we don't try to make it sound like more than it is. We help each other when the tractors break down or the harvest is too big to handle alone.
