It is just a simple building where we handle the business of the local farmers. We aren’t some big corporate entity from the city. Most of us have dirt under our fingernails most of the week. We wanted a place where we could gather and figure out how to sell what we grow without getting a bad deal every time. Being in Ahmednagar, we deal with the local climate and the specific challenges of this soil. At Plot 5, we usually have a few people coming in and out, asking questions about the latest rules or where the trucks are going. It’s a lot of coordination and sometimes it feels like we are just barely keeping up with the paperwork. But that is how it goes when you’re running a small local operation. We don’t spend money on fancy advertisements or marketing people. We just use what we have to make things a little better for the group.
