In Ghogargaon, which is part of Shrigonda in the Ahmednagar district, we have our base at S.No.108, House Number 01. This is where Unitee Agro Farmers Producer Companylimited operates. It’s the first house you really notice when you come into our little section of the area. We’ve been farming these lands for a long time, and bringing everyone together into one company just seemed like the next logical step. Ahmednagar can be a dry place, so we spend a lot of time worrying about the monsoon and how much water we have in storage. We meet at the house to talk about everything from the cost of diesel for the tractors to which market we should drive to on Saturday. There isn't any hierarchy here; we all just pitch in and do what’s needed. One day you might be out in the field pulling weeds, and the next you might be sitting at the wooden table in the house trying to figure out the tax forms. It’s a lot of work to keep everything running, and we don’t always get it right on the first try. We just keep moving forward. It’s a real community effort, and we take pride in the fact that we are doing this for ourselves. We are just a bunch of local farmers trying to stay afloat and keep our traditions going while we manage the daily chores.
