Sri Sri Malewadi Farmers Producercompany Limited

Our group is called Sri Sri Malewadi Farmers Producercompany Limited. We operate out of Kishor Shamrao Thorat’s place, which is house number 215 in Malewadi. This is in the Shrirampur area, within the Anagar district. We are basically a bunch of local farmers from Malewadi who thought it made sense to join forces. It is much easier to handle the selling and the buying when you are not doing it all alone. The house serves as our main meeting point for the company. It is not a formal office with cubicles or computers everywhere. We sit around and figure out the schedules for planting and harvesting the crops. Shrirampur has a lot of farming activity, so we are right in the middle of it all. We do not have a big staff. It is just the members of the producer company doing what needs to be done. Some of us handle the transport while others look after the accounts and the paperwork. It can get pretty stressful when the prices for the crops drop, but we stick together. We do not put out ads or try to sound like a big city firm. We are just people from the village. If someone needs to find us, they just ask for Kishor’s house. We keep things simple. Our focus is just on getting the produce from the fields to the market without too much trouble. It is a lot of hard work.
