We operate out of Shri Balaji Baswantrao's place in Loni. Shrimanmathswami Farmer Producer Company is a group of us who live and farm around the 431602 area. We aren't a big corporation with fancy offices. We just use a corner of the house and the storage spaces we have available. It’s a very local thing. We spend our mornings out in the fields and our afternoons dealing with the paperwork and the buyers. Being a producer company means the farmers themselves are the owners. We started this because it was getting harder to handle the markets on our own. Now we pool our resources and try to get things done a bit more efficiently. It’s not always smooth sailing; there are days when the logistics are a nightmare and the weather doesn’t cooperate. But we stick with it. There is usually a pot of tea going and someone sitting at the table looking over the ledgers. We don't have a lot of polished marketing materials or a big sales pitch. We just grow what we grow and try to find the best way to sell it. If you’re passing through Loni, you might see us moving bags or loading up a truck. It’s basic, honest work. We do our best to keep everything running for the members. It isn't much to look at, but it gets the job done for us.
