Shrigonda Natural Growers Farmer Producer Company Limited is set up in Autewadi. It's a small spot in Shrigonda, and we work out of Anil Jagannath Auti’s place. Most of us here have been farming our whole lives. We decided to get together because doing things alone was getting harder every year. In Shrigonda, the land is good if you treat it right, so we try to stick to natural ways of growing. We don't use a lot of those heavy chemicals that you see in the big stores. It’s more about the old ways that our fathers used, but organized a bit better. The office is really just a desk in the house where we keep the registers and the government papers. It’s usually noisy with people coming in to talk about the harvest or the price of onions. We don’t have a big marketing team or anyone to write fancy letters. We just talk to each other and decide what needs to be planted next. Sometimes the crops don’t do what we want, and that’s just how it goes with nature. We share the risks and the work. If you walk through Autewadi, you’ll see our fields. They look like everyone else’s, but we put a lot of heart into them. We aren’t trying to be the biggest company in the district, just a group that works well together and stays honest about what we do. It's a solid way to live.
