Shri Shiv Sahyadri Farmer Producercompany Limited is based at Tanaji Mahadu Raut’s place in Nimgaon Bhojapur. We are located in the Sangamner taluka, which is part of the Ahmednagar district. The area around Nimgaon Bhoj is known for its agriculture, and we are just one part of that community. Our company was formed so we could have a bit more control over how our produce gets sold. It’s not a big fancy office with air conditioning. It’s more like a place where neighbors meet to talk about the latest prices and who is going to take the next load to the market. We have a lot of discussions about the Sahyadri hills and how the geography here affects what we can grow. Some days are really busy, especially during harvest time, and other days we are just sitting around waiting for news. We have to deal with a lot of rules and regulations that the government puts on farmer companies, which can be pretty confusing for us. We do our best to keep everything in order, even if our filing system is just a bunch of folders on a wooden shelf. We aren't trying to impress anyone with big talk. We just want to make sure the farmers in Sangamner get a fair shake. It’s a simple goal but it takes a lot of effort to keep it going year after year. We are mostly just tired but happy to be working together on this project.
