Sant Devidas Maharaj Shetkari Producer Company Limited is our local group here in Deulgaon. We operate out of Sukhdev Kaduba Sanaph’s place at Ward 01 in Singaon Jaha. We named it after the saint because it felt right for a community project like this. Most of us are small-time farmers who have been working these fields for a long time. We realized that if we worked together, we might have a better shot at getting decent prices for our crops. We deal with all sorts of produce, depending on what the season brings. The company is basically just a way for us to pool our crops and share the costs of getting things to town. It’s not a polished operation. You’ll usually find us covered in dust or mud, depending on the time of year. We spend our evenings at the N. 46 address figuring out who needs what and how the harvest is looking. It’s a lot of responsibility, and sometimes it feels like there aren't enough hours in the day to get the farming and the company work done. But we stick with it because it’s important for our families here in Singaon Jaha. We’re just trying to keep the farms running and make sure everyone gets a fair shake at the end of the day. It’s a very local, hands-on kind of business with no fancy talk, just a lot of hard work for everyone.
