Out here in Jedhewadi, near the Jatnandur post, life mostly revolves around what’s happening in the dirt. A few of us got together at Sadhu Yadav’s place because we were tired of dealing with middle men who didn't understand the work we put in. That’s how Sadhu Indra Farmer Producer Company Limited started. It isn't a big operation with suits and ties. It’s just us farmers trying to get a fair shake. We spend most of our time out in the fields, but we meet up at the Chaudhari house to talk about seeds, fertilizers, and where we’re going to sell everything. Sometimes the rain comes at the wrong time, and sometimes it doesn't come at all, which makes things pretty stressful for everyone in the group. We aren't trying to change the world, just trying to make sure our families are okay. Being part of this group helps us share the load. If one person has a tractor issue or needs help with a specific crop, there’s usually someone else in the company who can pitch in or give some advice. It’s a lot of honest work. We don't have a fancy website or anything like that. We just focus on the harvest and making sure the crops from Jedhewadi are good enough to sell. It feels better doing this as a collective rather than everyone just struggling on their own.
