Ramtirth Shetkari Producer Company Limited is located over at Mr. Sunil Sopan Gagare’s house. We are in Tambheretal which is part of Rahuri in the Ahmednagar district. It is a very rural area and we like it that way. Being a producer company means we are mostly just a group of farmers who decided to pool our resources. We don't have a big corporate headquarters or a glass building. We just meet up at the house and talk about what needs to be done for the next season. The work is mostly about coordinating what we grow and how we sell it. Rahuri has good soil but the water can be a problem sometimes. We spend a lot of time discussing irrigation and seeds. It is a very hands-on kind of life. There is no one here wearing a suit. We are usually in our work clothes because there is always something to fix or move. Ahmednagar is a big place but our little corner in Tambheretal is quiet. We know all the neighbors and they know us. Most of the guys in the company have known each other since we were kids. We just want to make sure our farms keep going and that we can support our families. It’s not a complicated story. We just work the land and try to be smart about it as a group. Anyway, that’s who we are and what we do here day by day.
