Our place is at House No. 1277 in Mukindpur, which is part of Newasa in the Ahmednagar district. Newasa Agricos Farmer Producer Companylimited is run right from this house. It’s a typical local setup where the line between work and home gets a bit blurry. We might be discussing seed prices one minute and having lunch the next. We chose to stay in Mukindpur because that’s where the roots are. It’s a small community and everyone knows everyone. We don’t have any fancy signs or a reception desk. If you come by, you’ll probably just see us sitting in the front room with stacks of files and some samples of whatever is in season. Working in Ahmednagar means we are always thinking about water and the sun. We spend a lot of our time out on the roads, visiting different plots and talking to the people growing the food. It’s messy work sometimes, and our shoes are usually covered in dirt by the end of the day. We don't have a mission statement on the wall. We just have a list of things that need to get done before the sun goes down. It’s about being useful to the people around us. We handle the mundane stuff like licenses and transport so the growers can focus on their land. It’s a slow and steady process, and we’re just happy to be a part of it, one day at a time.
