Majha Naded Farmers Producer Company Limited is run by us local farmers here in Dahikalamba. We use Anandrao Devrao Khade’s house, which is house number 126, as our main base. It is a small village setup and we like it that way. We mostly focus on what is growing in our own fields and how we can get it to the market without losing too much money. Farming is a gamble and every one of us knows that. One year you get lucky with the rain, and the next year you are just trying to break even. By working together as a producer company, we can share the load a little bit. We do not have any fancy brochures or a sales department. We just sit around, drink some tea, and decide what needs doing for the next season. The roads around Dahikalamba can be quite rough, so getting the harvest out is always a big chore. We help each other with that whenever possible. It is much better than trying to do everything all by yourself. We have a lot of experience between us, even if we do not use the newest technology out there. We stick to what we know works for this specific soil. Our families have been in this area for generations. It is a quiet place, but there is always some work to be done. We aren’t trying to be the biggest company, just a reliable one for the people living right here.
