Kurle Krushimitra Producer Company Limited is our group here in Rajache Kurle. We are located at House No. 481, which is Anandrao Bajirao Mane’s house. Most of us have been farming in this area since we were kids. The word Krushimitra means friend of the farmer, and that's really how we see ourselves. We are just friends and neighbors who decided to work together. It’s a lot of work to manage everything on your own, from the seeds to the selling. By coming together at Anandrao’s house, we can figure things out as a group. It’s not a fancy office. You’ll usually see some farm equipment parked outside and hear a lot of talk about the weather. We don't have a big corporate structure. We just have our meetings and try to stay organized. Some days are harder than others, especially when the prices at the market are low. We don't have any professional writers to talk for us. It’s just us. We share what we have and try to help each other out during the harvest. It’s a simple way of living, but it works for us. We are just trying to keep the farms in Rajache Kurle going for the next generation. It’s hard work and it's not always pretty, but it’s our life and we’re doing our best with it. We just sit around and talk about the fields and the season ahead.
