In Pemgiri, which is over in the Sangamner part of Ahmednagar, we started Kulsamrat Prithviraj Chauhan Farmers Producer Company Limited. Our main spot is at House Number 820. It isn't a professional office building, just a place where we get things done. We are farmers first. Most of us grew up around here and have been working these fields since we were kids. We decided to form this company because we wanted to have more control over how we sell our produce and how we buy our supplies. Ahmednagar can be a tough place for farming sometimes because of the water, but we make do with what we have. We aren't here to promise anything impossible. We just work together so that we can get better results for everyone in our group. When you come by Pemgiri, you’ll see that we are just regular folks. We spend our days dealing with seeds, fertilizers, and the daily grind of managing a farm. Sometimes we sit down at the house and talk for hours about the market rates and how to transport things more cheaply. It is a slow process of building something together, but it feels better than trying to fight the system by ourselves. We just want to keep our farming tradition alive and make sure our kids have a reason to stay in the village instead of moving away. The work is hard but it is ours.
