Krishak Sahyadri Farmer Producer Company Limited is based at Sakhubai Babasaheb Varpe’s place in Kanoli, which is in Sangamner. We’re tucked away in the Ahmednagar district, where the Sahyadri range keeps things interesting for us farmers. Our group was formed because we needed a way to deal with the buyers on our own terms. It’s a real community effort, and Sakhubai’s house has become the main spot where we all get together to sort things out. We don’t have a lot of fancy equipment or a big warehouse, just some space to gather and some honest people who want to work hard. The roads can be a bit rough around Kanoli, especially when it rains, but we make sure the produce gets out one way or another. We aren’t trying to impress anyone with big words or polished presentations. We talk about real things like the cost of diesel or why the onions didn’t turn out right this year. It’s a very hands-on way of doing business, and we prefer it that way. Everyone in the group has a say, and we just try to keep things fair for all the families involved. It’s about the land and the people who work it, plain and simple, without any extra fluff or corporate nonsense. We just keep our heads down and do the work that needs to be done.
