Kolhar Bhagavati Farmers Producer Company Limited

Our group is called Kolhar Bhagavati Farmers Producer Company Limited. We are located in Kolhar Bk, which is in the Rahata Taluka of Ahmednagar district. You can find us over at Rajuri Road. The office is at Jitendra Kharde’s place. It’s a local setup for the local people here. We are mostly focused on the crops that grow well in this part of Maharashtra. Farming in Rahata has its own set of challenges, especially with the water and the heat. We decided to form this company to help each other out with the selling and the buying of supplies. It is not a corporate thing at all. It’s just a bunch of neighbors and farmers trying to get a better deal for our produce. We spend most of our time out on the Rajuri Road site or visiting the different farms nearby. The paperwork is something we handle in the evenings. It’s a lot to keep track of, but it’s better than being on your own. We don't have any big slogans. We just want to make sure the work we do on the land is worth it in the end. Sometimes things go well and other times we have to struggle through a bad season. That is just how it is in this business. We are just honest people doing what we know best and trying to keep the tradition of farming alive while making it professional.
