Kayastha Farmer Producer Company Limited is over in Ardhapur at house number 454/4. Nanded is a big district, but Ardhapur has its own feel, especially with all the bananas grown around here. Our office is just a regular room where we keep our ledgers and a couple of old computers. It isn't very quiet because the road nearby always has something going on, usually trucks or bikes. We get a lot of farmers dropping by just to see what the latest news is or to ask about prices. We don't have fancy uniforms or a big staff of experts. It's just a handful of us trying to coordinate things as best we can. Sometimes we're out late trying to get the trucks loaded or talking to buyers on the phone when the signal is good. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we're more worried about the crop quality than how the office looks. Being in Ardhapur means we are right in the middle of all the farming action. We handle the paperwork, talk to the local growers, and try to keep everything moving smoothly. It’s a lot of trial and error for us. We make mistakes sometimes, but we always try to fix them quickly. It’s a simple operation run by people who live right here in the neighborhood. We don’t have big meetings; we just talk over some hot tea and then get back to work.
