Karmyogini Rural Farmers Producer Company Limited is basically just us working out of Shri Tulsabai Asaram’s place in Rajatakli. It’s in the Ambad area, and if you know the roads around here, you know it can be a bit of a bumpy ride to get to us. We chose the name because it felt right for the women and the families who are putting in the effort every single day. It’s a rural life, and that means we wake up early and stay out late when the season is busy. There is a lot of talking that happens under the shade of the trees about what we should plant next or how to get a better price for the cotton or grain. We don’t have much in the way of a fancy setup, just some chairs and a table where we keep the ledgers. It gets a bit crowded when everyone shows up at once, but we make it work. The address is just where we meet to figure things out. Sometimes we argue about which way is better to handle the transport, but in the end, we're all neighbors. We just want to make sure the work we do in the fields actually pays for the food on the table. It isn't always easy, and some years are better than others, but we stay here because this is our home.
