Somthana is a small place, but it's where we’ve set up Farvi Import Export Farmer Producer Company Limited. We are located at Post Peth. Even though the name sounds like we are doing big international business, we are really just a group of local farmers. We grow our crops and then look for the best place to send them, whether that’s nearby or further away. The paperwork for the export side of things is a real headache, and none of us actually enjoy it. We’d much rather be out in the dirt. The weather around here can be very unpredictable. We’ve seen years where the rain never comes and others where it won't stop. Working together as a company helps us stay afloat during those bad times. Our office isn't anything special. It’s just a plain room where we can sit down and talk about which trucks are available or who needs help with their harvest. Most of us have known each other since we were children. Trust is the main thing that keeps us going. We don't have many employees, so we end up doing most of the heavy lifting ourselves. It keeps us busy from the moment the sun comes up until it’s dark. There is always a tractor to fix or a load of produce to check. We just take things as they come and hope for the best.
