Farmtech Farmers Producer Companylimited operates out of Khanapur in Shrirampur. We are located at C/O Dattatray Ramchandra Adik’s place. Ahmednagar is a big district and Shrirampur is a well-known part of it. The name "Farmtech" sounds a bit like we have robots, but really it’s just us and our old equipment. Dattatray’s house is where we keep the folders and the stamp for the official papers. We are a bunch of farmers who thought we should try something new by working as a group. It took a long time to get everyone to agree on how to do it. Shrirampur is famous for sugar, but we deal with whatever is in season. The office is really just a spare room with a ceiling fan that makes a lot of noise. We don't have a fancy business plan or any of that stuff. We just know what we see in the fields every day. Sometimes we meet up early in the morning before it gets too hot to think. We don't use any slick language to talk about our work. It’s just farming. We have some ups and downs like any other business. One week the harvest is great and the next week we are worrying about the pests or the rain. We just stay here in Khanapur and keep at it. It’s a simple life and we prefer it that way.
