We are just a group of local farmers from Mazod village in Hingoli. It started when a few of us sat down at Ahmad Chandkha Pathan’s place, house number 105, and talked about how hard it is to get things done alone. Farming in Maharashtra is not easy, especially when prices go up and down every week. We registered Ek Hariaatma Farmer Producer Company Limited so we could help each other out with seeds and selling what we grow. It is mostly people from around here who know the soil and the local weather. We don't have a big fancy office or anything like that. Our base is right there in Mazod, and that is where we meet to figure things out. Sometimes the rain doesn't come on time, and other times the market is slow, but having this company makes it a bit better. We aren't trying to be some big corporation. We just want to make sure the work we do in the fields actually pays off at the end of the season. There are a lot of hurdles in agriculture these days, from water issues to transport.
