We go by the name Dharwanta Farmers Producer Company Limited. Our home base is at 196 Dharwanta, which is Digambar Yadavrao Shelke’s place. We are a small group of farmers from around here. We don't have a big staff or any fancy equipment in our office. It’s just a house where we keep our files and meet up after a long day in the fields. Farming in this area has its ups and downs. Some years we get plenty of rain and other years it's a struggle. We formed this company because we realized that we could get better prices if we bought our supplies together. It’s all very local. Most of us have known each other since we were in school. We don't have any big marketing strategies. We just grow our crops and hope for the best at the market. When we meet at 196 Dharwanta, it’s mostly just talk about the practical things like transport and fertilizer. It’s not always a smooth process. Sometimes the paperwork is a mess and we have to spend hours figuring it out. But that’s just part of the job now. We are just ordinary people trying to make the most of what we have. We don't have a fancy story, just the work we do every day on the land. We keep moving forward because that is the only way to get things done.
