Atmaj Farmer Producer Company is situated in Gunjalwadipathar, which is a village in the Sangamner Taluka of Ahmadnagar district. Our main address is at Radhesham Gunjal’s place. The name of the village is a bit of a mouthful, but it is home to us. We are all local farmers who have spent most of our lives in these fields. Around here, the weather can be a bit unpredictable, and the soil needs a lot of care. We decided to form this company because we realized that working separately was making things harder than they needed to be. Now, we use Radhesham’s house as our meeting spot. We sit there and talk about seeds, the cost of diesel for the tractors, and who is buying what this year. It is a very grassroots kind of thing. We don’t have a big marketing budget or a fancy website. We just have our hands and our knowledge of the land. Most of us are busy from dawn until dusk, so the company stuff usually happens in the evenings when the sun is down. We are just trying to get organized so we can get better prices for our onions or whatever else we are growing that season. It’s a slow build, but we are proud of what we’ve done so far. It’s honest work, and having the company name on our documents makes us feel like we are finally being taken seriously. We are just simple people.
