Our shop is out on Jamfalwadi Road, right near Dhan Estate. If you’re driving on the Baroda Express Highway, you’ll see the C.T.M. area. We’re right opposite Ambica Hotel, which is where most people stop for a meal. The location is good for us because it’s easy for the big trucks to get in and out. We do engineering and fabrication work here. It’s mostly heavy stuff, so the floor is always covered in metal scraps and oil. It’s a hot job, especially being so close to the highway and with all the machinery running. We don't really have a set routine, we just handle whatever job comes in the door. Some days it's small repairs, other days it's big structural pieces. We’ve got a small crew and we all know our roles. We don't use fancy computers for everything; a lot of it is just manual skill and knowing how metal behaves. The noise from the highway is constant, but you stop hearing it after the first hour. When things get real busy, we grab some food from across the street and keep working. It’s practical work for practical people. We aren't looking to impress anyone with a shiny office or a clean floor. We just want to build things that hold up and last for a long time. That’s why we’re here in C.T.M., just getting the job done every single day regardless of the weather.
