Ramkrishna Engineering Works

If you head down Chakudia Mahadev Road, you’ll find us at 22, Gravity Estate. Ramkrishna Engineering Works has been operating out of this unit for a good bit of time. It’s usually pretty loud inside because of the machines running, but that’s just how an engineering shop is. We spend the day working on various metal parts and fixing things that people bring in. The estate gets a bit crowded with trucks and vans, especially in the afternoons. We have our tools spread out across the benches. Sometimes the floor gets a bit greasy, no matter how much we sweep. It's a practical space. We don't have a receptionist or anything like that. Usually, one of us just wipes our hands on a rag and walks over to the door when someone pulls up. It’s honest work. We deal with measurements and heavy materials every day. The air smells like oil and cold steel. We’ve been at this address for long enough that the locals know where to turn off the main road. It gets hot in the summer under the roof, so we keep the fans going full blast. We just focus on the task in front of us. It’s not a shiny corporate office, just a place where things get built and repaired. We keep at it from morning till evening, making sure the jobs get done. The metal scraps pile up in the corner until the weekend rolls around. We just keep our heads down and get through the projects.
