Welcome Hair Salon

If you go to Gor No Kuvo in Maninagar East, you’ll find our little shop right opposite the Jay Garvi Gujarat Society. It’s a quiet enough area compared to the main roads, which we like. Welcome Hair Salon is the name on the board, and we try to be decent to whoever walks through the door. We have a few chairs and the usual tools spread out on the counters. It’s not a fancy place with air conditioning and soft music, just a regular local shop where we work hard. We get a lot of regulars from the society across the road and they usually come in every few weeks. We talk about the weather or how the local cricket teams are doing while we work. The mirrors are a bit old and have some spots on them, but they do the job just fine. We spend a lot of our time making sure the capes are clean and the floor is swept up after every person. It’s a simple life and we’ve been doing this in Ahmedabad for quite a few years now. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait a bit for it to come back, but the customers are patient because they know us. We just take things as they come and try to do our best for the neighborhood. After we finish, we just clean up and go home to our families.
