Opera Hair Salon

Opera Hair Salon is over at Shop-1 in the Sandiv Complex. We are on the road that connects Law Garden to Paldi, so we get a mix of people. Being near Sharda Mandir means there are always students and teachers walking around. The shop is small and practical. I usually start the day by cleaning the glass at the front because the dust from the Paldi road is constant. I’ve got two main chairs and a small bench for people to sit on while they wait. The name Opera sounds a bit grand, but it’s just a normal hair salon. I don’t use any of those expensive machines. I just have my scissors, some clippers, and a steady hand. The tea guy from the corner brings me a cup twice a day, and that’s usually when I take a break. The Sandiv Complex is an older building, so it has its quirks, like the occasional leaky pipe or a flickering bulb. But it’s home for the business. I know the rhythm of the street—when the school lets out and when the office crowd heads home. Most of the people who come here are from the neighborhood. They don't want anything complicated, just a decent cut so they look tidy. It’s been this way for a long time and I don't see it changing much.
