Welcome Hair Art

I’ve been here at Shakti Square for a while now, running Welcome Hair Art. Shop number five is where you'll find us, right on the first floor. It’s usually busy around Nehru Park, especially in the evenings when folks are out and about. We can see the Bala Hanuman Temple from nearby, and sometimes the smell of coffee from the Cafe Coffee Day across the way drifts over. It’s just a regular hair shop. I spend most of my day with scissors in hand, watching people come and go from the window. Sometimes the fan makes a bit of noise, but we’re used to it. The floor gets covered in hair pretty fast, so we keep the broom handy. People from around Vastrapur stop by when they need a trim or just want to tidy up. It isn't a fancy place, just some chairs and mirrors and the usual tools we need to get the job done. Sometimes the stairs up to the first floor feel a bit steep after a long day, but it’s a good spot to be. We see the same faces every month, and it's nice to know the neighbors. The traffic on the road gets loud during rush hour, but inside we just focus on the hair. There’s always someone coming in asking for a quick shave or a cut before they head off to work or a family thing. It's just what we do here in Ahmedabad. It’s a simple life.
