Vishal Hair And Care is located at 4 Ajramar Flat in the Gheekanta area of Ahmedabad. It is a busy part of town, especially being so close to Gheekanta Road. Finding a parking spot for a scooter can sometimes be a bit of a headache, but there is usually a corner somewhere. The shop itself is small and tucked into the flats. We spend most of our time sweeping up hair and keeping the combs in the blue water. It is a routine that has not changed much over the years. We see a lot of regular faces from the apartments nearby. People come in, sit down, talk about the news or the weather, and then head back to work. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but they hold the memories of all the conversations we have had. It is not one of those big salons you see in malls. We just have the essential chairs and a couple of old fans that keep the air moving when it gets humid. Sometimes the light through the front window is a bit bright in the afternoons. If you are walking down Gheekanta Road, you just look for the Ajramar building. We do not have a big flashing sign or anything like that. It is just a place where you can get a haircut without any fuss or loud music playing in the background. It is just a normal shop for the neighborhood guys.
