Vikram Sarabhai Community Science Centre

We've been here in Navrangpura for quite a while now. If you head over near L M College of Pharmacy, you'll see our spot. It is right opposite Gujarat University, so there is always a lot of movement around the area. People usually just call us the Vikram Sarabhai Community Science Centre. It’s a place where things happen every day, mostly science stuff. We have kids coming in, teachers too, and just anyone curious. It’s not some big fancy office building. It feels more like a place for the community to just get their hands on things. Sometimes it gets a bit noisy when groups are here, but that is how it goes. The location is easy to find since we are in such a busy part of Ahmedabad. You just look for the university and we are right there. We spend our days setting up labs or working on different setups for visitors. It’s been this way for years. We don’t really do big advertisements. Most people know us because they walked past or their kids had a trip here. It's a simple setup really. No one wears suits or anything. We just focus on what is in front of us. Navrangpura is a good spot for this because it's central. The trees around here give some shade, which helps in the summer. We are just open during the regular hours and people drop by. It’s a busy life here. We often see the same faces, locals who just want to see something new. It isn't a museum where you can't touch anything. It's the opposite. We want things to be used. The L M College of Pharmacy is a good landmark, so we just tell people to look for that. We've seen a lot of changes in the university area over the years, but we've stayed right here. It’s a bit dusty sometimes, and there is always some equipment that needs a bit of a fix, but that is part of the charm of the place.
