Our shop is at No. 48 Jay Nagar, right near Hiraba School on Vastral Road. You can usually hear the kids playing during their recess if the wind is blowing the right way. We’ve been in this part of Vastral for quite some time now. It’s a bit of a dusty area with all the new construction going on lately, but we don’t mind it much. The workshop gets pretty loud once the machines start running in the morning. We spend a lot of our time checking measurements and making sure things fit right. It’s not the kind of work you can just rush through. Sometimes we stay late when a job is taking longer than we thought it would. My hands are usually pretty greasy by lunchtime, so I have to be careful not to ruin my sandwiches. We have a small crew and we’ve known each other for many years. There isn’t much hierarchy here; we all just do what needs to be done. The office part is just a small desk in the corner with a computer that’s seen better days. We get a lot of locals dropping by just to chat or ask for a quick fix on something they broke. It’s a friendly neighborhood even with all the industrial stuff going on around us. We just keep at it, day in and day out, trying to keep the machines humming along. It’s steady work and it keeps us busy.
