Valinath Dairy And Sweets is located at Olpad A 8. If you come by early in the morning, you will see the milk cans arriving and the steam coming from the big pots in the back. We start our day while most people are still sleeping because the milk doesn't wait for anyone. We make various types of sweets here, mostly the traditional kinds that people around Olpad like to buy for their families. The kitchen stays warm all day from the stoves. We spend a lot of time stirring milk until it thickens up just right. It is a lot of standing on your feet and making sure nothing burns. The front counter gets crowded in the evenings when people are heading home from work. They want something sweet to take back or just a bottle of fresh milk. We try to keep the glass cases clean, but fingerprints always find a way onto them. It is a family-run kind of place, so you will usually see the same faces every time you walk in. There is no fancy decor here, just simple shelves and the smell of cardamom and sugar in the air. We’ve been here at this spot for quite some time. Sometimes we run out of certain items by the late afternoon if it’s a festival day. It gets chaotic then, but we just keep serving whoever is next in line. It is just our way of life here at the dairy.
