Our workshop is at 11, Mahalaxmi Estate, which is near Kaival Kanta in the Rakhial area. It’s a pretty old part of the city, and the buildings here have a lot of character, even if they are a bit run down. We are in a small estate with a few other workshops. It’s a tight-knit spot. Everyone knows everyone else's business. We’ve been doing engineering work here for a while. The shop is small and a bit cluttered. We have parts and old prototypes sitting on shelves gathering dust. Sometimes we find stuff we forgot we even made years ago. We don't use any high-tech software or anything like that. Most of our planning is done with a pencil and a piece of paper on the workbench. It’s a very hands-on way of doing things. We get people from the neighborhood stopping by to chat or to ask if we can fix a broken hinge or a tool for them. We usually help them out if we have the time. The tea stall right outside our gate is where we spend our breaks. The city sounds are always there in the background, but inside the estate, it feels a bit more private. We aren't trying to grow into some massive company. We just like being Uma Engineers in Rakhial. It's a comfortable place to be, and we know the rhythms of the street by heart now. We aren't going anywhere.
