Trilok Kirana Stores

Trilok Kirana Stores is right here at 555/2 in the Delhi Chakla area. If you know Ahmedabad, you know this part of town gets pretty busy during the day. We’ve been sitting in this same spot for quite a while now. Most days start early before the sun gets too high. We spend the morning moving sacks around and making sure the jars are filled up with whatever people usually ask for. It is mostly just groceries, things like pulses, oils, and spices that everyone needs for their kitchen. The shop isn’t fancy or anything like that. The floor is old and we have shelves lining all the walls. Sometimes it gets a bit crowded when a few people come in at once, especially in the evenings when everyone is heading home and remembers they forgot to buy something. We just try to keep things organized so we can find what’s needed quickly. There is always some noise from the street outside, rickshaws passing by and people talking. We know most of the faces that walk through the door because they live just a few lanes away. It’s just a normal shop doing its thing every day. We don’t have any big signs or bright lights, just the wooden counter and the stock we keep. It stays dusty no matter how much we clean, but that’s just how it is around here. We open up, wait for the regulars, and close when the street finally goes quiet at night.
